Collision Damage waiver (CDW) / LOSS DAMAGE WAIVER (LDW) – CDW or LDW is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. The purchase of CDW or LDW is optional and not required to rent a car if the customer can produce proof of coverage at the time of pickup. If the renter elects to purchase CDW or LDW Economy Rent A Car waives or reduces the renter's responsibility.LDW includes CDW as well as a waiver of Renter’s responsibility in the event of loss or theft of the vehicle. CDW/LDW are subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and applicable laws (including but not limited to towing, storage, loss of use, administrative fees and/or diminishment of value) subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and applicable laws. CDW or LDW is not insurance. The purchase of CDW or LDW is optional and not required to rent a car if the renter can produce proof acceptable coverage. The protection provided by CDW or LDW may duplicate the renter's existing coverage. Please be advised that our agents are not qualified to evaluate the insurance coverage. The renter is responsible to verify his/her credit card coverage, automobile insurance policy or other sources of coverage that are provided to cover CDW or LDW, and whether benefits are transferable at the time of rental. CDW or LDW will not cover in case of direct or indirect acts of God, including but not limited to flood, hurricane or lightning. All waivers will be voided if the terms of the rental agreement are violated. Please be advised that Economy Rent A Car in its discretion reserves the right to accept or refuse insurance coverage. Economy Rent a Car only accepts insurance policies from the United States that are transferred to a rental vehicle. Economy Rent a Car does not accept commercial or international insurance policies including Canadian-for self-insurance purposes; only U.S.issued personal auto insurance under the renters name is accepted, and it must include transferable collision, comprehensive, and liability coverage (including bodily injury and property damage). LDW can be purchased from $32.99 up to $39.95 depending on the location and the type of vehicle reserved. Please note that customers renting the car for one day must provide their own insurance, including coverage for collision, comprehensive, liability and property damage. If you choose to decline all
optional protection waivers, you will be fully responsible for any damage, theft, or loss of the rental vehicle during your rental period. In such cases, the
rental company will place a higher security deposit or hold on your payment method to cover potential damages, and you will be required to pay the total
amount of the damage upfront. You must handle all claims directly with your personal auto insurance or credit card provider, and any reimbursement
will depend on their policies and coverage limits. Please note that additional fees, including administrative costs, loss-of-use charges, and diminished
value, may also apply and may not be covered by your insurance.
